Our History :
Primary Advisors was formed in 2001 by Ashwin Ramesh and Ajit Dayal to manage and advise India-dedicated real estate portfolios to take advantage of the investment opportunities that the growing Indian economy offers.
The co-founders collectively average more than forty years of experience in real estate and capital markets. They bring strong relationships, local presence, experience and expertise combined with strong investments track record.
Ashwin is a second generation real estate developer and investor with a personal experience of over 17 years.Developing, investing in Real estate has been his only business. Has made investments in and exits from over 100 acres of land. In addition, Ashwin has made investments in several other properties across all price points - in under construction / development projects of other developers, with a view to capture the upside during the construction period. Ashwin has developed greenfield projects over more than 75 acres. He has been actively involved in planning, zoning, infrastructure development, finance, legalities and marketing of real estate - from raw land to finished product. He has developed strong relationships with builders/developers across locations. Prior to his career in real estate development and real estate investments, Ashwin trained with well-known law firm of D. M. Harish & Company and with Unilever’s India subsidiary. Quantum Advisors has managed money for various foreign investors in India’s equity markets over the past 15 years and its principal, Ajit Dayal, has managed money for US-based endowments and pensions including having the distinction of being the lead manager on the US$ 2.2 billion Vanguard International Value Fund. Quantum Advisors’ insights into developing investment processes and setting strict corporate governance standards followed by US-based pensions and endowments will go a long way in helping Primary Advisors establish itself as the preferred investment advisor and manager for discerning investors. |

Led by Ashwin Ramesh, Primary has a fully-integrated, dedicated team of professionals based out of Mumbai. Specialists in various disciplines, such as legal and compliance, and research, they ensure the smooth running of the business. Ably aided and supported by team Quantum, a fifty member strong team with professionals specializing in debt markets, private equity, listed equity, legal and compliance and client servicing. Guided by a solid, reputable Board of Advisors consisting of individuals who are experts in their own field ranging from law and taxation to engineering and finance. |

Anil Harish (53), Partner, D M Harish & Co - legal expert . With over 29 years of legal practice behind him specializing in property matters, structuring joint ventures, tax planning Anil brings tremendous value to the table. Satish Mehta (52),Ex MD, CIBIL- Satish was with HDFC before being instrumentaI in setting up CIBIL, India’s first Credit Bureau. His keen insights into the world of finance will be of huge help going forward. Nasser Munjee (53), Ex MD, IDFC - pioneer in infrastructure, provided assistance in funding projects more than USD 4 billion – roads, ports, telecom, integrated transportation. Nasser brings his grand overview and vision of the country’s infrastructure plays as well as a minute understanding of project financing, both of immense value to the team. K D Rajani (55), Structural Consultant, Engineer and Project Manager for ports, railway stations, commercial complexes. Mr. Rajani’s expertise in project management and timely execution of projects within stipulated budgets will greatly help Primary in monitoring of its investments and budgeting. Mahesh Vyas (50), MD & CEO of CMIE - provider of reliable economic data in India. Mahesh’s understanding of the country’s macro picture is unrivalled, even the government refers to him for a clear picture. His tracking of trends , consumption patterns, industrial capex , etc will be of great use to Primary. |
